The Age of Stupid is a 90-minute film about climate change, set in the future, which had its UK premiere in March 2009 - and it's licensed for free showings in the NHS.
In the film, Oscar-nominated Pete Postlethwaite (In The Name of the Father, Brassed Off) stars as a man living alone in the devastated world of 2055, looking back at “archive” footage from 2007 and asking: why didn’t we stop climate change when we had the chance?

Climate change is such an important issue in the health service that in July 2009, a blanket licence fee was arranged so that the film can be screened free-of-charge to all staff and students in the NHS.
Director of the NHS Sustainable Development Unit, Dr David Pencheon said: "It's the first time the health services and professionals have ever raised awareness of such a crucial issue in this way, but the commitment to raise awareness and promote action using this film indicates how seriously health professionals and the NHS are taking the health threat caused by climate change."
On 7th July the NHS licence was launched by a high profile panel discussing climate change and the NHS.

No licence fee is payable for screenings to NHS Staff and Students in the UK
£6.00 admin fee is payable for each screening
